IPP

IPP

The IPP test has two tasks at the same time: Dial Tracking and Mathematics.

What is IPP?

The IPP (Information Processing and Perception) test evaluates your ability to handle multiple cognitive tasks simultaneously. You must watch dials and press the correct keys while performing mental math operations. The faster your reaction time, the higher your score.

1. Dial Tracking

  • There are three dials on the screen, each with a moving gauge.
  • Each dial is assigned a specific letter on your keyboard.
  • Dials have 3 zones: green, orange, and red.
  • When a gauge enters the red zone, press the assigned letter immediately.
  • Note: Letter assignments may change during the test; the system will notify you when this happens.

2. Mathematics

  • You are given a starting number and a math rule (one of 4 possible rules).
  • Update the number step-by-step using the rule and the new numbers shown on screen.
  • The result of one operation becomes the base number for the next.
  • Enter your answer directly from the keyboard (no need to press ENTER).
  • If you make a mistake, the system will show the correct number and rule so you can continue from the right point.

Watch out for...

  • Fakes: Dials may approach the red zone quickly then back off at the last second.
  • If you miss a red zone, the dial will flash red as a warning.

How to Prepare

  • Multi-tasking: Practice keeping the cross centered while doing math.
  • Prioritization: The secondary task (cross/dials) is as important as the math.
  • Mental Math: Practice simple calculations without using fingers or paper.

Official Mode

Follows the exact rules of Phases 2 and 3 of the real exam. This mode includes the cross-tracking secondary task.

  • Dual-task simulation
  • Graded performance tracking
  • No assistance during Phase 3

The 3 Phases Pattern

This pattern applies to all modules in the Pegasus exam.
